The Brahmaputra river in Northern India originates high in the Himalayas before flowing through the Assam Valley where UNESCO protected national parks and remote rural communities provide the traveller with unique experiences.

Essentially a safari adventure we go into the parks in search of wildlife by small boat, jeep and on elephant back. Highlights are sightings of one-horned Indian rhinoceros and tigers.

On the river we see a varied bird life not to mention river dolphins. Stopping on Majuli Island we visit the Mishing people with their highly original hand weaving traditions. We also visit tea plantations, local villages and towns.

The Brahmaputra may be one of the greatest rivers on the planet, yet there is little shipping or human life on it which offers a very exclusive immersion into a vast water world unfolding before the back drop of the Himalayas.
